Communications Data Group (CDG) recently announced that Florida-based Rapid Fiber Internet will use its consumer and enterprise operations and billing platform for its business operations in the communities it serves in the Suwannee Valley of northern Florida.
The platform, called Elements, unifies the various components that make up CDG’s Modularity Billing System (MBS), BDS-I, and Mediation products. It provides a single architecture for developing and deploying tools like AI-driven customer service chatbots, generative Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, and operational awareness tools.
According to CDG, Rapid Fire is a perfect fit for the Elements platform. “Rapid Fiber Internet is a great example of an electric coop expanding their service offerings into the fiber internet market,” said CDG’s Chief Technology Officer Tony Stout.
“To successfully undertake such an endeavor, you need the right set of tools for managing the build out, controlling your operations, and supporting and billing your services. We look forward to providing them with our open architecture, operator-driven, OSS/BSS platform to help them achieve all of these keystones,” Stout said.
Rapid Fire Internet’s Vice President of Network Operations Chris McKenzie believes that this is a positive step for the company.
“CDG’s cloud-based, SaaS-delivered OSS/BSS platform and company vision are exactly what we were looking for — an innovative, scalable, open-architecture solution with a high focus on operations tools,” McKenzie said in the press release. “We are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead of us now that we will have a toolbox with everything we need.”
CDG’s platform handles voice, video, data, circuit, and interconnect services for retail and wholesale broadband service providers and carriers.
Rapid Fiber Internet is a subsidiary of Suwannee Valley Electric Cooperative. It is a broadband provider to residential and business customers in the Suwannee Valley, which is west of Jacksonville, Florida.
