Smartphones remain the most popular connected device, according to a CUJO AI report. They comprised 41% of all connected devices between April 2021 and March 2022, compared to 38% the previous year.

Smartphones were followed by computers and tablets at 17.5% and 9% respectively.

The report also showed that gaming consoles remained popular. Nintendo had 35.65%, of all new gaming connected devices, while PlayStation had 35.55%, and Xbox, 28.69%. More than one-quarter (25.27%) of households have at least two gaming consoles from different brands.

“The device landscape is changing in tangible ways, as people use more and more connected devices,” said Kimmo Kasslin, CUJO AI vice president of research laboratories, in a prepared statement. “Some of those devices have certain risks to their users, which often fly under the radar of the average consumer.”
